6. Heat Treatment

Forging

    Heat slowly and evenly to 1050 ℃. Reheat the steel if necessary to avoid working at temperatures below 850 °C. After forging the steel, cool slowly in a furnace or in an insulating material.

Annealing

   The components are homogeneously heated 630 - 650 ℃ to soak and then slowly cooled in an oven to about 600 °C and cooled in air.

Hardening

   Heat the tool slowly and evenly to 650 - 700 °C and soak thoroughly continue to the hardening temperature of 840 - 870 °C and heat the assembly through. Quench the assembly or cool it in air.

 

7: Delivery condition
    For hot forged or hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged or rolled, annealed, rough turned.
    For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed, milled surface.

    For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
